We are Fountech Capital, a dedicated investor of AI-centric deep tech startups. We provide early-stage Pre-Seed and Seed capital, technical knowhow, market access, global networks and unrelenting focus to help you launch and scale your innovative idea.
We build long-lasting relationships with our founders, typically starting when they're still in the lab. These relationships last years and are built on shared effort and commitment to success. In short, we are not passive investors looking for an easy life.
The Managing Partners have lived and breathed the world of deep tech for decades, both as investors and as founders of numerous innovative businesses across Europe, the US and MENA.
Our investment teams have been carefully curated and include entrepreneurs, finance experts, scientists and engineers in emerging technologies, including the fields of AI, ML, language processing, vision/speech, quantum, smart materials, robotics, photonics and nano.
We proactively identify the teams and ideas that best fit our investment thesis. That means if you are doing something interesting in deep tech and if you have a stellar team, it is likely we are already keeping an eye on you, and you will be hearing from us.
However, even our network has its limits - which is why we are also open to inbound deals from early stage, deep tech startups looking to change the world. If that is you, this is our process.

To dive deeper, we will invite you to a 1-hour demo call, where we review any demo's available, go deeper into the fundamental technologies being applied and also talk to your co-founders and the wider team.

Before we kick-off any due diligence, we like to meet the team in person. This is unusual for a VC but for us it is important we get to know the startup team and better understand what makes them tick.
We have offices in London and Riyadh and the meeting would take place in one of these locations.

This is where we review and analyse all the elements that make up the startup's potential and how it fits into our overall investment thesis.
In reality, we start this process on day 1, but this stage is where we formalise all we have discovered to date and also add all the legal steps required to progress to an investment.
All being well, the offer is issued, and funds are dispatched to your bank account.

Alaraj is an active angel investor in technology startups in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, USA and UK. As an angel, he invested in more than 30 startups in different industries including Fintech, Blockchain, LegalTech, EdTech, AI/ML, Food/Beverages, Logistics, SaaS and Cybersecurity.
Alaraj is the Co-Founder and the Chairman of the Board of Riyadh Angel Investors (RAI), a Saudi based angel network. The network comprises of more than 70 members who are actively involved in the local ecosystem.
